English for secondary school students /11-15 years of age/

The program is held under the following conditions:
 Form of education: face-to-face or distance learning as desired.
 Schedule for 1 academic year/1 level: 120 study hours.
 Weekly schedule: 4 hours per week /2 days x 2 hours/.
 Start dates: September 15 to October 31 and February 1 to March 15.
Other start dates on request.
 Tuition fees: standard groups of 5 to 12 students:
 Sofia: BGN 1380 for payment in installments /6 x 230/ or BGN 1311 all at once.
 Other towns: BGN 990 for payment in installments /6 x 165/ or BGN 940 all at once.

Level B Senior – learning system and study material
The Way Up 2 system is suitable for students aged 11 to 15 years. It is a continuation of
"Way Up 1". Learning materials include: a coursebook, a workbook, writing task booklet and a
testbooklet to determine progress.
The coursebook is divided into 7 units with 5 lessons each, as follows:
Reading: Stimulating level-appropriate material, designed to elicit maximum student
response in the key areas of comprehension and vocabulary.
Story: An entertaining adventure story in which students meet likeable characters and
follow them on their exciting adventures.
Speaking / Listening: Here students are given a variety of speaking and listening activities
which aid is the development of their oral and aural skills.
Writing: Step-by-step skills and oral preparation exercises as well as model writing tasks
provide learners with a firm grounding in the early stages of writing.
Everyday English: Exposure to realistic situations enables tudents to use everyday English
naturally and effectively.

At the end of each unit the writing task booklet is worked on and progress is determined by
a test from the test booklet.
In the first lessons, the verb tenses already learned in the previous level are reinforced. By
the end of the school year students also learn: past continuous, present perfect, past
perfect and present perfect continuous, as well as being able to form conditional sentences
of the first and second type, questions tags and comparative constructions. In this level the
modal verbs; are studied, as well as the use of the
infinitive, passive voice and quantifiers. Students are able to talk about daily activities and
occupations, can talk about past experiences, their health, crimes, express their opinion
regarding issues related to pollution and environmental protection and make a summary of a
text.
Classes are held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Multimedia materials are used during
the lessons.
The course of study is within 120 study hours and covers one academic year. Vacations
coincide with those of public schools. Classes are 2 times a week for 2 study hours. The
groups are small, as we value the individual approach. In order to communicate with parents,
with the set of study materials, each student receives a report card in which the teacher
notes feedback on how the student performed during the lesson, as well as records
homework exercises.
